Billy Joel – Turnstiles Mofi SACD
Experience The Orchestral Sweep, Ravishing Poignancy Like Never Before
By 1976, Billy Joel had proven his merit as an auteur of California-based singer-songwriter pop-rock. On Turnstiles, the legend focuses his attention on more ambitious matters: Making an album whose scope and range dwarf that of his previous work, and shot his star into the stratosphere. Encompassing everything from urgent rock to soft pop and saloon fare, Turnstiles is a classic of major proportions. We have gone back to the original master tapes to present Joel's encompassing music the way it was always intended to be experienced: Intimate, detailed, expressive, warm. The record's widescreen sonics are at last properly cinematic, flush with colors, textures, and atmosphere.Connected Fidelity AC-2K Superior Balanced Mains Supply

"The album is worth getting for the 15 minutes of 'La Nevada' alone but the rest is equally great including the cinematic side closer 'Where Flamingoes Fly.' ... The sonics here with a cut from the master tape by Ryan K. Smith (yes, the master tape- I have a current photo that for some reason I can't share with you) are incredibly transparent, spacious and flat-out thrilling ... and somewhat brighter and less mid-band rich than the long out of print Alto-Analogue edition Bernie Grundman cut in 1997. Both are worth having for different sonic reasons and if you have a clean original Rudy Van Gelder cut (A-4) you may think you are set, but that cut is less spacious, somewhat dynamically compressed, has the RVG lower bass roll-off and is definitely less transparent — not that it's bad and some people do like the more 'in your face' excitement. This one's here now though! Do not miss it!" — Music = 10/11; Sound = 10/11 - Michael Fremer, AnalogPlanet.com.

TOPPING DX7 PRO+ Balanced DAC Headphone Amplifier
The TOPPING DX7 Pro+ is a DAC/Amp from TOPPING in collaboration with Apos Audio. The original DX7 Pro, which many considered to be the sweet spot in the TOPPING line-up, combined world-class DAC design with powerful amplification in a compact form at an unbeatable price. However, due to extreme volatility in the supply chain during the past 24 months, TOPPING had no choice but to discontinue it. The new TOPPING DX7 Pro+ continues the legacy of this fan favorite.
