Oasis – Definitely Maybe – 30th Anniversary Vinyl LP
New 30th anniversary formats released to celebrate this landmark date include a Limited Edition deluxe 4LP and 2CD featuring including the previously unreleased and discarded original recording session from Monnow Valley along with outtakes from Sawmills Studios plus a demo of Sad Song featuring Liam’s vocal – all recently mixed for this release by Noel Gallagher and Callum Marinho. LP formats also include a retail exclusive coloured vinyl format – Digsy’s Dinner inspired “Strawberries and cream” pink and white marble 2LP.
All versions feature brand new artwork by the original art designer Brian Cannon for Microdot and original sleeve photographer Michael Spencer Jones, plus new sleeve notes.

Shapes and Sound by jazz composer/saxophonist Kirsten Edkins Shapes and Sound from jazz saxophonist Kirsten Edkins is the debut LP release from Cohearent Records — the new record label companion to famed mastering engineer Kevin Gray’s latest enterprise, an all-valve (vacuum tube) recording studio (Cohearent Recording) adjoining his home-based mastering facility in California. “It’s the ‘essence of an era’ we are trying to recapture with today’s musicians, not the sound of specific spaces, engineers or recordings,” Gray told music reviewer Michael Fremer.

If great art, as many believe, is inherently polarizing, then the Stone Temple Pilots’ Tiny Music… Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop easily ranks as the California-based band’s finest album. Simultaneously celebrated and castigated upon release in spring 1996, the group’s third full-length finds vocalist Scott Weiland and company expanding their “grunge” palette with a smart blend of glam rock, psychedelia, jangle pop, and other related styles. Having benefited from long-view reassessments that shed the biases and meanness of initial criticisms, the double-platinum effort is now largely and rightly seen as a creative masterwork. All the more reason why it deserves reference-grade production.

Alan Parsons Project – The Turn Of A Friendly Card – Speakers Corner 180g Vinyl LP
The album “The Turn Of A Friendly Card” includes two of Parsons’ very best songs: “Time”, with its beautiful harmonies, and the gently swinging “Games People Play” which opens with Empire fanfares. That the instrumental tracks find favour with almost all rock fans is hardly surprising because the music more often than not emulates the driving sound of Brit Rock rather than bombastic “sonic soufflés” (Rolling Stone).
But be that as it may, the title certainly holds its promise. The sales figures for this album clearly show that this ‘friendly card’ has definitely turned up trumps for Alan Parsons.
