Ike Quebec – Heavy Soul – Tone Poet Classic Vinyl Series
Ike Quebec’s aptly titled 1961 album Heavy Soul was a soul jazz masterclass with the tenor saxophonist joined by Freddie Roach on organ, Milt Hinton on bass, and Al Harewood on drums. Ike’s robust horn conjures a variety of moods from up-tempo swingers to sultry slow-tempo stunners closing with a spellbinding duo rendition of “Nature Boy” with Hinton. This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is stereo, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.
Dizzy Reece – Star Bright Lp (Blue Note Classic Series) Blue Note Vinyl
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, the trumpeter Dizzy Reece moved to London at age 17 and began working across Europe, frequently in Paris, where he played with the likes of Don Byas and Kenny Clarke. Reece also made fans of Miles Davisand Sonny Rollinswho spread the word about a hot new trumpeter on the European scene. So when Donald Byrd and Art Taylor came through Paris on tour in 1958 they sought out Reece and even found their way into the recording studio together for what would become Reece’s Blue Note debut Blues In Trinity.
Chasing The Dragon – Audiophile Recordings By Mike Valentine – CD
This audiophile demonstration disc from Chasing the Dragon contains 16 selections from iconic composers and musicians including Vivaldi, Schubert, Bach, Copland, Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Ellington among others which were recorded combining 50 year old valve microphones with a high resolution digital recorder, capturing a variety of acoustic tracks which producer/engineer Mike Valentine says “should take you and your Hi-Fi system on an interesting journey!” Also included is an accompanying 18 page booklet, each page devoted to a track, detailing how the recording was made.

Espana a Tribute to Spain – Rosie Middleton | Debbie Wisemman : National Symphony Orchestra Entitled ‘A Tribute To Spain’ the programme included two pieces from Bizet, concert performances with mezzo-soprano Rosie Middleton, together with Rimsky Korsakov’s Capriccio Espagnol and Chabrier’s Espana, these classical showpieces.

Chasing The Dragon – Beethoven Piano Sonatas: Moonlight & Pathetique Direct Cut CD
The "Moonlight" and "Pathetique" piano sonatas are performed here by the wonderful pianist John Lenehan. This CD release was originally recorded directly on to the vinyl cutting machine at Air Studios which is known as a "Direct Cut", and sounds wonderful.

Acoustic Sounds and Contemporary Records present this new reissue of iconic jazz trumpet player Art Farmer’s 1958 Contemporary Records debut, “Portrait of Art Farmer”. Featuring Hank Jones (piano), Addison Farmer (bass) and Roy Haynes (drums) with this edition pressed on 180-gram vinyl pressed at QRP with (AAA) lacquers cut from the original tapes by Bernie Grundman. It is presented in a tip-on jacket.
