Available to Pre-Order - Due End Of August
Lacquers cut by Matthew Luthans at The Mastering Lab 1989 Collaboration with Marcus Miller on 180g Vinyl LP! That Miles and Warner Music VP Tommy LiPuma would desire to repeat past success holds little surprise. Amandla ā in approach, sound, and even title ("amandla" means power in Zulu and was the rallying cry of the South African anti-apartheid movement)āis the child to Tutu, with one notable exception. Whereas Tutu had been a variety pack of beats, melodies and textures, Miles' final collaboration with bassist/producer Marcus Miller holds together as a more consistent endeavor, the rhythmic influences (rock, go-go, zouk, funk, even old-school swing) flowing together into a more balanced, and satisfying whole.Miles Davis – Birth Of The Blue ā Analogue Productions Hybrid Stereo SACD
Miles Davis's Kind of Blue was the number-one jazz album in history. It totaled five songs. There are four more songs from that same historic group, recorded in the same time period and at the same studio. And here they are. These songs deserve to stand on their own with artwork to highlight the quality of the music and that matches the time period of the recording. This is a rare opportunity to have a smash follow-up to what many consider the greatest jazz record ever!
Miles Davis – Kind Of Blue (Corrected Speed) Analogue Productions 180 Gram Black 2LP
Black vinyl version.
A minor audio complication with Kind of Blue has been addressed with our UHQR edition, and now with this 331/3 RPM double LP reissue.
The motor on the studio's 3-track master recorder was running slowly the day of the album's first session. This speed issue affected the album's first three tracks, "So What," "Freddie Freeloader" and "Blue in Green," making them a barely perceptible quarter-tone sharp. Before now, it was only addressed in 1995 for the Classic Records edition and by Columbia Records ā or their latter-day parent, Sony Music ā on a CD reissue in the late '90s. This edition also contains on Side 4 "Flamenco Sketches (alternate take)" cut at 45 RPM.

Miles Davis – Porgy and Bess Mofi Hybrid SACD
All MoFi SACD's will play in a standard CD player
astered from the Original Master Tapes and Strictly Limited to 3,000 Numbered Copies
If a more significant, influential, and lasting result of a creative musical partnership exists than that of Miles Davis and Gil Evans' Porgy and Bess, society hasn't seen it. It's impossible to overstate the importance of the pair's collaboration on the landmark 1959 update of George Gershwin's opera. Transcending genre, time, and place, the profound statement finds Evans and Davis implementing modal approaches in a mainstream context and advancing jazz idioms that would become the foundation of the form's still-classic era. And that's saying nothing of the soulful playing ā legendary performances by Davis' first great quintet that can now be heard in pristine detail courtesy of this definitive digital edition.Miles Davis – Sketches Of Spain – MOFI 180g Vinyl LP

Davisā Final And Most Impressive Pairing With Arranger Gil Evans Yields Watershed Innovations
1/4ā³ / 15 IPS analog master to DSD 64 to analog console to lathe
Miles Davis and Gil Evans bridged styles and collaborated on high-concept projects a total of three times during their celebrated career. For their final act, they created Sketches of Spain, a peak moment in each luminaryās career and a transformative album that weds Spanish themes, lush orchestrations, romantic timbres, and Davisā increasingly lyrical methods in a tender ceremony that continues to resonate more than five decades after its original release.
