This is an excellent value mains filter. I have had one for some time now, it has made across the board improvements with every component I have used it with, but in my system it woks especially well with my Cambridge Audio 851A integrated amp. I will buy some more of these as soon as funds allow.

“An Excellent In Line Mains Filter”
“An excellent, very compact, very well made and very effective in line mains filter that is highly recommended.”

I purchased one of these, connected it to my Marantz SA11s3 SACD/CD/DAC main source via a MK Silver Plated Mains 13a plug using Furutech 314ag mains cable, a standard silver plated IEC then this Optimus Filter fitted with the optional Furutech filter and the Furutech F-11ag IEC.
I was not expecting a difference straight away, about a year ago i replaced all my systems mains cables with Furutech 314ag mains cable, the thick fat ugly black cables as the Mrs. calls them, totally difficult to hide anywhere but as the system is in a dedicated room that the Mrs. hardly goes into ”who cares what they look like”
These mains cables took around three months to bed in even left powered up all the time so as i explained earlier ”i was not expecting anything different”
What a shock, the difference is as clear as ”night and day”
Everything came into focus, bright spitty discs calmed down into a rich full bodied sound, made one disc actually ”listenable” (if you have ”The Anchoress” Confessions of a romance novelist album will know how distorted it sounds) and everything seems to hang in a stereo image of pure silence.
I expect the performance to drop off over the next 60 days then slowly increase over the next 30 days.
Will have another of these on the Musical Fidelity NU-Vista amplifier i have, well worth the £140 (before the generous discount David offers on all orders)
Cheers David, its a fantastic filter well made and usual superb service from MCRU.
Will be back for more of these over the next 12 months.

Bought a pair of the stock version of these to filter the mains feeding my Martin Logan Vantage speakers, using MCRU DIY cables I’d made a few years ago. I could hear noticeable ‘radio’ static on the electrostatic panels and asymmetrical hum on the active bass drivers. After adding these filters, the panel noise is gone and the background amplifier hum is much calmer and symmetrical. Blacker backgrounds and a lovely musical result. Well worth the money.
