You won’t find 100’s of power leads on our website, we have a range that are all designed to be the best they can, mainly because we don’t like returns! So designing a mains lead to sound better than other offerings for the same money has always been our core goal.
MCRU have been fans of UP-OCC for decades, Ohno Continuous Cast Copper is the purest copper available and conductivity wise is the best cable available next to pure silver. The No.95 mains lead uses a special design of silver plated UP-OCC which has foil shield screening and integrated faraday cage to reject RFI. Performance wise it meets all our criteria and is up there with the very best in our opinion.
The standard No.95 is fitted with Furutech’s very best FI-50 NCF IEC connector and matching rhodium plug and costs over £700, this version is a Special Edition which uses the same cable and our specially commissioned pure copper Furutech mains plug. Terminated with the Furutech FI-11 copper IEC and our specially selected audiophile 13A fuse. Finally we fit our bespoke internal filters into the plug and IEC.

Bought to replace the cheap lead that comes with the Auralic Altair G2.1. As with all good McRU leads, this improved the sound. The biggest plus was the soundstage, particularly with headphones. Well made and it looks like it will last last longer than me.
