MCRU Double Screened Mains Spur Cable

After months of trialling in various systems MCRU are able to offer a new double screened copper mains cable suitable for home installation for separate mains spurs (radial or ring).

The cable is available per metre off the reel and is offered in 4mm sq, 6mm sq and 10mm sq conductors. We have used this cable for power cords and tested its sonic abilities using lengths of cable running from a consumer unit to a double wall socket, reports are it is excellent for the intended purpose. The double screen design consists of a foil shield and tinned copper braiding. The braiding is twisted to form a thin wire at the consumer unit end, wired in with the yellow earth cable as standard, at the wall socket end the braiding is cut off and the 3 wires connected as normal.

The combination of copper braiding and foil shield has been proven to reduce the effects of RFI/EMI and stop the cable acting as an aerial.
