The CAD GC3.1 Ground Control is a passive high-frequency noise reduction system designed to improve audio system performance by converting high-frequency energy into heat. It works by connecting to audio component outputs or Earth ground connections, requiring specialized, low-impedance cables to effectively absorb noise from approximately 700kHz up to over 10GHz. The GC3.1 is a more powerful version for the main power earth and chassis, offering substantial noise reduction.

How it works

Passive operation:

The Ground Control is a passive device, meaning it has no active electronic components and does not pass current.

Internal composite:

It contains a proprietary composite “sandwich” of specialized materials that absorb high-frequency noise and convert it into heat.

High-frequency absorption:

The materials are effective over a wide frequency range, from the very high kHz range to over 10 GHz.

Purpose and application

Reduce high-frequency noise:

The primary goal is to reduce high-frequency noise that can degrade audio quality.

Connect to audio components:

It connects to any audio product with an unused output or input, like RCA, XLR, or USB.

Connect to Earth ground:

It can also be attached to the Earth connection of your audio system, such as a metal case screw or a dedicated earth post.

Ideal for noisy components:

It is particularly effective with noisy components like servers, phono preamplifiers, and preamplifiers that are sensitive to high-frequency noise.

Key features

Multiple connection sockets:

The GC3.1 features six 4mm banana sockets on the back for connecting to multiple audio components.

Low-impedance cables:

Connecting the Ground Control requires specialized cables designed for low-impedance high-frequency noise.

Additive effect:

The sonic improvement is often additive, meaning the more components connected to the Ground Control, the greater the overall effect.

  • The PSM156 builds upon the brilliance of the legendary PSM136 retaining the precision symmetrically balanced circuitry and 6 fully independent outputs. Increasing the number of independently tuned filter elements from 39 to 52 enables your system to deliver even greater delicacy and detail whilst enhancing dynamics and punch.
The PSM156 will lift your system into a new dimension. Definition takes an enormous stride forward, individual instruments gain air between them with their sound and timbre becoming believable, the sound-stage will move out of your speakers and into the room with gains in three dimensionality with clarity definition and space between the instruments for them to interrelate rather than muddle each other. Your listening will become a far more engaging and pleasurable experience.
