MCRU are proud to introduce a new mains power cable to our range, we have sourced this cable specially to satisfy demand for a reasonably priced audiophile mains cable for DIY that can deliver maximum current and perform way above the price expectations.
Using OFC copper conductors, the cable differs from 99% of other offerings as it uses 4MM square conductors, most others are either 1.5mm, 2mm or 2.5mm. This cable is able to offer maximum performance with all power hungry amplifiers as it will allow them to draw more current more quickly.
The cable also utilizes a tinned copper screen to provide an active earth shield (beware of competitors selling galvanized steel braiding which is just cheap industrial robotics cable).
The cable will fit many of the audiophile mains plugs and most IEC’s, if in doubt let us know what you intend to use the cable with first.

Ordered enough also for a full loom, so far I’m gauging the impact with a connection from the mains to the power conditioner and have been very impressed with the performance!!
Clear improvement in the delivery and subsequent increase in dynamics and soundstage, going to be a very interesting listen when I join the other’s to the equation, for a tenner a metre to make your own you wont go far wrong with this cable, bargain!!

Kudos to Mr Brook for discovering this cable – a solid, no-nosense, reassuringly stiff product from a family-owned German company called Böhm Kabeltechnik. Despite the large core diameter, this is a surprisingly slim cable, no thicker than the Lapp 2.5 mm one (perhaps even a tad slimmer). This cable is an absolute revelation and if you combine it with some silver-plated MS HD Power plugs you’ll get a cable that will compete with some costing several hundred quid, for only a fraction of the price. Great detail retrieval, balanced sound, warm and punchy in equal measure. It enables amplifiers to put out an incredibly wide and atmospheric sound stage, expanding laterally and depth-wise well beyond the speakers. Another audiophile secret which enthusiasts will be delighted to discover.
