The Who – My Generation (Mono) – Analogue Productions 45 RPM 180 Gram 2 Disc Vinyl LP

The explosive debut from The Who still sounds like a shock to the system — and My Generation remains one of the most ferocious opening statements in rock history.

Originally released in 1965, My Generation peaked at No. 5 on the U.K. charts and instantly propelled the band toward worldwide acclaim. My Generation captured the raw energy of the mid-1960s British mod scene and introduced the band’s classic lineup — Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, John Entwistle, and Keith Moon. Its aggressive sound, feedback, and power-chord attack helped lay groundwork for hard rock and punk decades later.

Description

The Who — My Generation
180-gram 45 RPM mono double LP
Includes “My Generation,” “The Kids Are Alright” and “The Ox”
Mastered by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering from the original analog master tapes
Pressed at Quality Record Pressings
Stoughton Printing tip-on old style gatefold jacket with scuff resistant matte finish

Its notable tracks included the title song with its defiant “…hope I die before I get old” lyric and one of rock’s earliest bass solos, by Entwistle. Also memorable, “The Kids Are Alright,” one of Townshend’s earliest great pop compositions, “A Legal Matter” and “Out in the Street.” The instrumental showcase The Ox highlights Entwistle’s thunderous bass playing and the band’s explosive early interplay.

Now this landmark recording receives the audiophile treatment it deserves. Pressed at Quality Record Pressings on 180-gram vinyl and spread across two 45 RPM LPs, this edition unlocks the album’s full sonic force. The wider grooves and faster playback speed deliver greater dynamic range, improved transient attack, and deeper low-end authority – letting Moon’s manic drumming, Townshend’s slashing chords, and Entwistle’s pioneering bass lines leap from the speakers with startling immediacy.

From the opening blast to the final groove, My Generation remains a thrilling document of a band about to change rock ‘n’ roll forever!
