An absolute bargain.
To say that I am pleased that I bought this interconnect is an understatement. I ran it in for 48 hours solid before even giving it a listen, and as soon as I did I remember my first thought was ‘wow’, quickly followed by ‘texture’. However, it took another 6 weeks and about 60 – 70 hours before it went up a level in performance.
With my previous interconnect, both voices and instruments had body, good tonality and a three-dimensional presence in the soundstage: they still have this, but now they sound more like REAL instruments than they did previously. This is the texture bit – you can see in your mind’s eye bass strings touching frets, feel the gravel in a singer’s voice and ‘hear’ the acoustic space in which various pieces have been recorded. To me, the most impressive thing has been the wonderfully natural sound of cymbals and brass – not a hint of harshness. And the soundstaging and instrumental placement on well-recorded tracks is phenomenal – you are at the mixing desk. All of this is no doubt achieved in part by the huge drop in the noise floor, as well as the control it has brought to bass reproduction.
I am sure I wouldn’t have got this great a result with this cable without having upgraded my CD and amp mains cables over the last year or so. Speak to David about the options he has that suit your budget and I believe you won’t be disappointed at the end of the journey.
