Mains Cables R Us have developed an external power supply for the new GT40a which now works on 15V DC.
Supplied with a mains lead and captive DC cable to plug straight into the GT40, totally plug and play. The power supply can be up-graded with a better fuse and our specialist mains leads (a standard power lead is included no extra charge).
If you wish to purchase the GT40 DAC as well as our power supply it can be added at the time of purchase using the options menu for a discounted price.
As with all our power supply’s, a range of up-grades to improve performance are available using the drop down menu. The power supply works very well in it’s standard form but anyone who demands the best can add the up-grades as they desire.

the ultimate upgrade
The GT40 is certainly one of the finest gems in Hi Fi. However, it has one major weakness – a poor, cheap and nasty far eastern wall wart AC power supply. Furutech admit this themselves by the way. I looked high and low for an aftermarket PSU untll I found David’s site – and low and behold David had actually made one specifically for the GT40! I am, through experience, a firm believer in the fundamental importance of clean mains for great hifi sound. Suffice to say I have had this PSU burning in for a few days now, and the improvement is already substantial. The soundstage has widened and deepened on my Sennheiser HD650. There is more of everything – power, dynamics, micro detail, a sense of musicality. There is now pace, rythm and timing in spades. I was rather shocked at the scale of the improvement to be honest. David’s PSU for the GT40 takes an already magnificent piece of Hi Fi to the next level. In my books its an ESSENTIAL upgrade to get the best out of the GT40. I am using a Furutech mains cable with it and would recommend the use of such a high quality mains cable as an upgrade too
Finally, I can only think the same positive effects are to be found with his power supply for the Esprit model and soon to come GT40 Mark 2.
