Pressure points are a solution to that age old question, which turntable mat should I use? The answer is none. The pressure points replace your mat and bring about a stark transformation in sound quality that makes you wonder why no one thought of this before.
Pressure points lift the record off the platter allowing the vibrations induced by the stylus to dissipate into the air. At the same time the record is removed from any bearing rumble and platter resonance. Now your cartridge can present to you just the record, clarity and detail retrieval takes a massive leap, bass is more controlled, treble takes on a sweetness you will simply adore. The all important mid-range becomes clear and focused, the most complex passages are now more legible.
The points simply stick onto your existing platter, delrin, aluminium, perspex, it does not matter, the points are placed around the circumference of your platter near to the edge, they are made from a tacky elastomer with a non abrasive low friction plastic bonded to the lower part. They can easily be re-positioned and will not harm your vinyl in any way.
There is no need for support in the centre part of the vinyl, lifting your vinyl off the platter in this way will offer tangible improvements in sound staging, you will begin to hear exactly what is in those grooves.
MCRU have trialled the pressure points on the following turntables, we are 100% confident you will hear an improvement on any turntable or your money back.
Garrard 401 | Technics SL1200/1210 | Clearaudio Concept | Clearaudio Master Innovation | AMG Giro | Pro-Ject Classic | MoFi Studiodeck.
The points are supplied in sets of 8, simple position them on your turntable platter around the periphery. Rest your LP record on top and let the stylus hit the groove.
The pressure points are 4mm tall so you may need to adjust the VTA of your arm (basically the height) so that when the needle touches the record the arm is level to the naked eye.

Audio Origami – GTPuck Record Stabiliser
A Simple, Instant Upgrade For Turntables
A record stabiliser is essential to couple your records to your platter. Playing records without a stabiliser results in a thinner sound and a narrower presentation.
The GTPuck is the result of hundreds of hours of research and development with varying materials and weights. An o-ring spindle gripper holds the puck in the correct position, and the stabiliser is decoupled from the vinyl by a large base o-ring. The GTPuck is 270 grams and is machined from billet aluminium to be perfectly concentric.
The GTPuck helps your turntable get the most from your records.
Audio Origami – PuraMat Record Platter Mat
The Audio Origami PuraMat is an excellent and affordable upgrade to rubber and felt platter-mats found on entry to mid-level turntables.
If your turntable has a metal or glass platter or a rubber or felt platter mat, upgrading to a PuraMat will improve your mid-range, tighten up your bass and deliver a fuller, more focused sound.
It also helps decrease the amount of static electricity that transfers from your platter to your record.
Black Ravioli Record Ground
- The Black Ravioli Record Ground dissipates the energy created by the stylus travelling through the record groove. Essentially grounding it, which results in improved sound quality.
- Effective on most turntables including Linn LP12, Technics SL series, Garrards, and many more.
