If the Cartridge is not mounted properly, the right side of the stylus will be tracking the groove at a different ‘recording time’ as compared to the left side of the stylus. This will cause muddy sound reproduction and loss of detail.

This simple, inexpensive device allows the proper mounting and adjustment of your cartridge, as far as offset and overhang is concerned.
