We don’t just cobble parts together and hope they sound good, each part has to contribute towards the overall sonic character of the made up cable.
This month’s DIY set consists of silver plated copper cable cryo treated, made by Furutech of Japan paired with an MS HD power copper UK mains plug and the industry standard Wattgate 320i IEC connector. The FP–314AG–II cable features a copper drain wire to shield the cable from the effects of RFI, silver plated live and neutral conductors for improved conductivity (silver is the best conductor of electrons known to man).
In our opinion the most overlooked part of any mains lead is the humble fuse, the electricity has to travel through this tiny component and often we see expensive cables fitted with 20p fuses. At MCRU we know fuses matter and we include one of the very best fuses on the market in this months mains lead set from Hi-Fi Tuning of Germany, most of all ITS FREE.
