MCRU No.4 Mains Power Cable

The new No.4 power lead has come about because of our exclusive new cable featuring a cross between belden 19364 and 83803. The cable is made by belden in their USA factory and we are the exclusive UK dealer for it. When our sample cables arrived we set about making up some trial power cables to test in our own system (the MCRU policy since day 1 has always been we do not sell anything we would not be happy to use ourselves).

Thankfully the new design of belden cable is a superb performer for modest cost, it combines the foil shielding of both 83803 and 19364 and the copper drain wire but the stiffness of 83803 has been done away with and the 19364’s 2.08mm sq conductors are now much thicker in this version, over 3mm sq per conductor.

The configuration we have initially chosen is the MS HD Power silver plated copper UK mains plug (EU schuko and USA plugs also available) fitted with MS HD Powers own mains fuse and we have chosen the superb IeGo silver plated pure furukawa copper IEC connector.

Inside both end plugs resides the MCRU special filtering system which enhances sound quality considerably, proven by existing customer feedbacks.
